Marvel Legends NYCC 2026 Recap and Reactions

When they showed off Bastion, I was so excited, I’d been waiting for him for so long and he looked absolutely perfect. Then they showed Trask came with him and I was a little less excited, because I don’t really want Trask, and then on closer look the figure is pretty rough, swappable head and hands for the mind-controlled look, but not the neck, and the hands aren’t even articulated? Insane in 2026. The UK price makes it even worse, £82 is ridiculous even if Trask was a decent figure but with the corners cut, it’s even worse.

With this being a Made to Order item I expected it to be premium feeling like the previous items. Looking back to Mephisto, he was $10 more than this 2 pack but felt like some serious work and thought went into what to include. Bastion and Trask is a normal 2 pack with a year long wait. I would be fine adding both of these characters to my collection, but the more I think about it the less I want to spend the money. Also something to note, this seems to be the first Made to Order that every region will have to pay up front for when the deadline ends.

Gambit nails the look from the show, it is just a shame that I didn’t connect with it very much. Also shouldn’t the cards be a purple color for his powers? Vindicator was a curve ball but one I wouldn’t mind getting to replace my old figure. Only if I find the running change that was mentioned where one head doesn’t have the black paint on it, so he can fit in my comic display better.

Gambit looks pretty cool, and the cards match the look in the show but the lack of the charged up scythe really spoils it, not that it’s a character I want to get anyways after that season of television. Vindicator is an insane pull, I assume they need a figure that doesn’t require any new molds to pad it out. If we’re gonna be re-releasing Alpha Flight characters can we get a new Northstar and Aurora?

Easily my most wanted figures from the second season, and they live up to expectations pretty well. The ab crunch on Cyclops’ jacket looks a little off and I wish they lent a little more comic design for the faces instead of ’97 but that’s unrealistic I suppose.

I have never cared for the New X-Men jacket designs so these hold no interest for me. Some missed opportunities with not including blast effect compatible visors for Scott, or new psi effects for Jean like the claws they do for a team up move.

Both were recurring characters so decent choices for this wave. Sadly not much draw for me since I have the previous comic 2 pack. Although if Polaris ever goes on sale I will get her to replace the pinned legged figure so she has less chance of falling on my display.

I have the previous two-pack too but looking at the upgrades on these two, I have to admit it’s pretty tempting, it’s a really substantial step up even beyond the lack of pins, and the faces are huge upgrades.

This show was surprisingly good and even though I don’t care enough to get this set, the figures look really great. Rhino especially is such a great recreation of that design and has so much detail. If I had any interest in a younger style of Spider-Man this would be a must-get but overall it’s just not for me.

I watched season 1 and thought the show was fine but didn’t make me super invested in this version of Spider-Man. So this 2 pack doesn’t feel like a serious need for me in my collection. That being said I will admit that the Rhino looks really good and is probably the best figure of the character I’ve seen.

Not much to say here cause it’s just a new way to get previously released figures to fans who may need them to build the Astonishing team. I have both already but I’m happy for those that need them.

They feel a bit recent to rerelease them when there’s still Astonishing figures they haven’t made like Danger or Armor, but there’s definitely the demand for them.

Well this has to be one of the fastest page to action figure adaptations in a while. I guess it’s kind of neat but the fact they rushed this and we’ve got exactly one Ultimate Universe figure and it’s the worst book is very disappointing.

This is one of those characters that is mostly flashy and a cool design to sell comics. I recognize I’m a sucker for loving it but I honestly don’t care cause this is cool. I can’t tell if this is a new body. It looks larger than the recent Venoms but has the same articulation style so I could be wrong.

Okay so Beast and Nightcrawler are huge wants for me. Both of them look a bit off in some of the photos (Nightcrawler’s face and then Beast’s lower torso looks too thick), but I’ll hold judgement on that until I get them in hand. What does bother me is Nightcrawler’s torso articulation is either non-existent or just a ball under the shirt. So that means it’s seriously hindered. Now for Lord Doom. I don’t hate the idea of concept figures, as evidenced by me wanting the two Deadpool concept figures that are releasing right now. Although if a brand new figure had to be sculpted for a Doomsday wave this should have been any other character that we will actually see in the movie. We are still missing several confirmed characters I’d much rather get figures of.

I love a clear “we couldn’t get the rights to the actor’s face” figure, which is definitely what happened with Nightcrawler. And while I’m tempted to get a little Kelsey Grammer for my shelf, I’d prefer if he wasn’t blue and was wearing a nice suit. I like the idea of that Lord Doom but the figure itself looks really bad to me, especially the face and lack of body articulation. The bigger issue is that they’ve done another 3 figures and couldn’t include a single woman, I mean seriously where is Ghost, we’re on our second movie for her?

Probably the easiest teases they’ve ever done, Exodus and Hepzibah. Both on leaked lists, Exodus is especially pretty obvious even if he wasn’t known. There’s a non-pictured tease from the stream that seems to be Web Slinger from AtSV too.

I concur on all 3 of these teases, and it just makes me excited to see them revealed along with all the other characters on the rumor list.
