Keychron M5 Mouse Review
It’s not often that tech feels out of the box these days. So many cell phones, televisions, and most tech have become so similar that it’s hard to tell the difference between any of it. But the Keychron M5 Mouse feels so alien to me after having a normal mouse in my hand for most of my adult life. Having a mouse that stands upright rather than lying flat doesn’t seem like a big change, but it really is something you have to get a hold of.
The Keychron M5 Mouse has everything you expect from a mouse with a normal scroll wheel and the different buttons. But it also has extra programmable buttons on the thumb side of the mouse, plus another scroll wheel for ease of use. Scrolling with your thumb feels a lot more natural than having your hand lying on the mouse. It’s a much more ergonomic experience to hold the mouse and naturally glide around the screen. But it’s not something your body will be used to at first because it’s a much more natural way to hold something. Our hands have been conditioned by mice to control them one way, so to literally tilt that experience on its axis is a bit tricky to get a hold of.
After a few weeks of using the mouse, it felt completely natural to have my hand rest on the Keychron M5 Mouse naturally rather than lying flat like my other mice. There has been no latency when zipping about with the mouse connected via Bluetooth. I never found myself having hiccups in connection that slingshot my mouse across the screen or any other mishaps that can happen with a wireless connection. The Keychron M5 Mouse is a premium mouse in its technology and design.
The Keychron M5 Mouse came to my desk as an alien. It was so foreign to me how to properly hold it and scroll all day, but over time it’s become a companion to everything that I do at my desk. If you’re looking for something more ergonomic for long days of work, this is a great choice of mouse.
