Dark Horse Comics presents Minor Threats: Welcome to Twilight—Villains and Vignettes, the next four issues in the beloved anthology series exploring the desperate villains, deadbeat heroes, and fallen monsters who call Twilight City home. Each issue will pack a punch, featuring some of the best comic creators in the business!

In the first issue, featuring covers from Scott Hepburn (Minor Threats) and Joe Quinones, Mark Waid (Justice League Unlimited, Kingdom Come) and Scott Kolins (The Flash, 'Patra) tell a horrific story of superpowers, fanaticism, and manosphere supplements. Next, Minor Threats cowriters Patton Oswalt and Jordan Blum team up with Mike Mignola (Hellboy) himself to reveal the tragic origins of the dead kaiju many citizens of Redport call home. Finally, Minor Threats cocreator Scott Hepburn writes a story with art by Cary Nord (Conan the Barbarian) that travels back to Frankie Follis's past to uncover the true moment Playtime was born. And that's just the first issue!

Here's what a few of the anthology's creators had to say about their upcoming stories:

"This volume of Welcome to Twilight was an absolute dream come true, bringing together iconic creators who inspired the comics we write as well as some of the greatest up and coming talent who constantly make us jealous - all unleashing their twisted brains on the world of Minor Threats and populating new corners of our fantastic city. And I don't use "dream" lightly, I'm still not sure we actually got to write a story for Mike friggin' Mignola. If this was a prank, no one tell me."
Jordan Blum
"Two years ago, Patton and Jordan signed a Minor Threats poster for me and invited me to come play in their world. I thought they were kidding, turns out, they weren't. It's been such a blast teaming up with them, reuniting with the extraordinary Justin Mason and getting to tell a story in this rich universe. Every supervillain needs a good attorney (or a slightly corrupt one), and that's exactly what Goldstein & King are. Get ready for objections to be sustained in this all-new story, Supervillains at Law, from the world of Minor Threats."
Hannah Rose May
"It's been an absolute pleasure playing in the Minor Threats sandbox and adding to the amazing universe Jordan and Patton have created. The icing on the cake has been reuniting with one of my all-time favorite collaborators, the great Kevin Maguire, for the first time in more than a decade—and launching a new (almost/kinda/sorta) superhero team. Hope everyone enjoys The Superlatives."
J.M. DeMatteis
"I was flattered to be asked to participate, knowing what a murderers row of talent has already played in the Minor Threats sandbox. To be paired once more with Scott Kolins was an even bigger thrill. Our story is about the Alex Jones of the MT Universe—a sleazebag selling supplements that'll give you powers—and a very dissatisfied customer and, boy, was it fun to write."
Mark Waid
"This trashy story about trashy people was all sorts of trashy fun. Damn you, Waid. Really hope we get to do it again!"
Scott Kolins
"The opportunity to work in the Minor Threats universe alongside a pantheon of comic book rising superstars and all-time legends, including my friend and collaborator Darick Robertson, is beyond my wildest, nerdiest fantasies. Writing Minor Threats is like being given permission to speed on the highway, to do everything you've ever wanted to do as a creator no matter how crazy or reckless. All gas, no brakes."
Dan Hernandez

Minor Threats: Welcome to Twilight—Villains and Vignettes #1 (of 4) will be available in comic shops on October 28, 2026. It is now available for preorder from your local comic shop for $4.99.

Praise for From the World of Minor Threats: Welcome to Twilight:

"There hasn't been a bad title from the Dark Horse Comics Minor Threats universe yet. And great news, From the World of Minor Threats: Welcome to Twilight #1 doesn't break that trend, thanks to an expertly crafted issue by Matt Fraction and Mike Allred."

"This bizarre character study is a great entry point for readers who are new to Minor Threats. One of the most wonderfully strange universes in comics just got even more interesting."

From the World of Minor Threats: Welcome to Twilight
"The world of Minor Threats never ceases to amaze me. This past summer, they made me fall in love with a giant fly man, and now I'm rooting for a Miami Vice who has been with giant nonfunctioning wings who's up against someone who is literally two-faced (and not in the way you would expect). If you still haven't encountered the world that is Minor Threats, it's time to dive head first into the fun and chaos with Welcome to Twilight #1."
