Indie comics publisher, Band of Bards, presents Prospects #3, the third issue of the sci-fi pulp series inspired by Genndy Tartakosvy.
The 9-issue series, written by Maxwell Majernik and illustrated by Jean Franco, takes place in small-town Ridgeville that finds itself in the middle of a 150-year war between two mad scientists who claim to have deciphered the secret to immortality. Creating armies by turning promising townspeople into cyborgs or zombies, they wage war against each other.

After so many years of war, it all changes when a terrorist with the mission of destroying both scientists begs an unremarkable citizen, Colin Bates, to continue his legacy.
Prospects #1 and Prospects #2 are already available in digital and physical format. GateCrashers brings you an look inside the next chapter of the story, Prospects #3, coming soon by Maxwell Majernik and Jean Franco, and published by Band of Bards.

Jean has given Prospects so much life. I gave him as much of a blank slate as I could, and what he has been able to put together (and pull influence from) has been unreal. He balances inviting visuals with hyper-violence in a way I’ve never seen before.
Max Majernik on his partner Jean

Max and Jean have created an uncanny world of characters that are so easy to dislike, that you have to love them. This world brings me back to a lot of experiences I enjoyed as a kid, from its classic 90’s cartoon look to the deep plot that’s hidden so well in what people might conceive to be a simple story. It’s an allegory of every small town’s attempt to re-define itself… except that this time it goes horribly, horribly wrong.
