8/10/22 AEW Dynamite: Quake by the Lake results
Match 1: Darby Allin def. Brody King (Coffin Match)
The action didn’t take too long to kick off in this Coffin Match opening Quake by the Lake, as Darby attacked Brody King during the latter’s entrance. He drew some blood from King by striking him with a thumbtack-studded skateboard in the head.
King would take over after falling victim to an avalanche Code Red from Darby, using his massive size to maintain superiority over his smaller foe. Darby tried to create some separation after narrowly avoiding a table splash from King, but that’s when the lights shut off. This heralded the arrival of the rest of the House of Black, including a returned-from-injury Buddy Matthews. The faction laid a brutal beatdown on Darby, leaving only King to put his bitter rival into the coffin to end it.
However… Sting emerged from the thought-to-be-empty coffin and cleared house on the House of Black. He eventually stared down Malakai Black and held him off at the pass, chasing him from out of the stage.
In the match’s conclusion, Darby would snatch victory by using a chaint to choke King out and cause him to neatly stumble into the coffin, which closed shut.
A solid opener that didn’t skimp out on the action. Fans were treated to the sheer brutality that only a coffin match between AEW’s no-fear daredevil and the brute of the House of Black can provide.

Match 2: La Faccion Ingobernable (Rush & Andrade El Idolo) def. Lucha Brothers (Penta El Zero M & Rey Fenix)
The action didn’t stop for a second as we had a tornado tag match between hated rivals La Faccion Ingobernable and the Lucha Brothers. Lots of high flying lucha libre action with these two teams to dazzle fans.
Rush and Andrade attempted to get a sneaky win by tying Penta’s mask against the ropes to leave his brother Rey Fenix defenseless. However, Penta unmasked himself to try and make the save. Manager Alex Abrahantes tried to throw a replacement mask, but the LFI duo stole it and threw Penta out of the ring. This opened up Fenix to a Bull’s Horns dropkick from Rush and the El Idolo DDT from Andrade for the victory.
It made sense for La Faccion Ingobernable to get the win here, as they’re set to take on The Young Bucks and their partner in the first round of the Trios Championship Tournament. Rush and Andrade will be joined by Dragon Lee on this team and we should be in for a wild match this week. Speaking of the Young Bucks…

The Elite in “Trios Trouble”
The Young Bucks approached an old friend to be their third man in the upcoming Trios Title Tournament. They paid a visit to “Hangman” Adam Page in the Dark Order’s locker room, and tried to apologize to him for their past actions. While Page appreciated the apology, he ultimately rejected the Bucks’ proposal, as he cited that he wanted to show loyalty to his Dark Order friends by being in their corner for the tourney.
A very intriguing drama segment as the Jackson siblings showed apparent sincerity in wanting to make amends with Hangman.
Of course, with the Bucks down a man for their trios team and a match with La Faccion Ingobernable coming up, they’ll need someone to back them up. Will it be time for a battle cry to be heard?

Match 3: Luchasaurus def. Anthony Henry
With Jungle Boy on commentary for this short squash, it was simply a showcase to put Luchasaurus over as he easily dispatched Anthony Henry with little effort.
Post-Match
Christian Cage appeared on the big screen and taunted Jungle Boy & Luchasaurus, prompting an attack from Jungle Boy. Security and crew members quickly emerged to separate the two hated enemies. Luchasaurus showed up to beat up a few of the security members, ending up hitting AEW producer Pat Buck with a strike.

Match 4: Ricky Starks def. Aaron Solo
After the Absolute One rejected QT Marshall’s offer to join The Factory, he was set to take on the faction’s “star” pupil in Aaron Solo.
Not much to write home about as Starks finished off Solo in short order with his spear to get the win. Post-match, the Factory attempted to attack Starks using the numbers game, but failed to catch their target.
Powerhouse Hobbs was seen watching backstage, and ripped out a TV in frustration of Starks escaping certain doom.

Match 5: Jade Cargill def. Madison Rayne (TBS Championship Match)
The newest member of AEW’s coaching staff looked to snap the impressive unbeaten streak of the reigning TBS Champion, but that was easier said than done.
Jade proved why she is the most dominant woman of AEW’s women’s roster by easily handling Rayne’s challenge in a relatively short match. While Rayne got some offense in, it was largely a Jade display of excellence, capped off with the Jaded finishing maneuver that’s put away 35 other women before.
Post-Match
Disguised as an unidentified Baddie, Athena snuck up behind Jade and mocked her taunt before fighting the TBS Champ and chasing her off from the ring.
With Kris Statlander out indefinitely due to injury, it seems that the stage is set for Athena to presumably snap Jade’s unbeaten streak. Look for this match to happen at All Out.

Match 5: Jon Moxley def. “Lionheart” Chris Jericho (Interim AEW Championship Match); CM Punk Returns!
Quake by the Lake was capped off by a main event that would for sure register a 9.5 on the Richter Scale in terms of how massive it was. Jon Moxley looked to keep his interim AEW Title against “Lionheart” Chris Jericho, the last survivor of the Hart Dungeon.
Jericho indeed did throw it back to his Lionheart days, entering the ring with both classic Lionheart attire and entrance music.
The former AEW Champion showed Mox just how ruthless the Lionheart could be as he went after the current champ aggressively. How aggressive, you ask? By ripping out Moxley’s earring to cause some considerable amount of pain. Jericho used his submission knowledge to try and stay one step ahead of Mox, including applying a Bret Hart-style ringpost figure-four leg lock at one point.
Jericho seemingly had Mox dead to rights with the Liontamer, but the champ refused to give in, prompting for a transition into the Walls of Jericho instead. Moxley would get to the ropes in the nick of time to escape.
Using a removed turnbuckle as a distraction, Jericho had Sammy Guevara bring him “Floyd” the baseball bat, which he then used to hit Mox right in the head. That wouldn’t be enough to keep the champ down. The exposed turnbuckle would come into play, with Jericho using that to counter a sleeper hold applied by Moxley, then hitting him with the Judas Effect. 1… 2… NO!
This main event’s finish would come as Mox bloodied Jericho with a throw into the exposed turnbuckle, followed by repeated elbows and the bodyscissors sleeperhold to force the Lionheart to tap out.
Post-Match
The Jericho Appreciation Society ran from the back to help their leader attack Moxley after the match. Blackpool Combat Club’s Claudio Castagnoli, along with Eddie Kingston & Ortiz tried to even the odds, but soon found themselves outnumbered by the heels.
Cue the return of the “true” AEW World Champion, CM Punk, to a massive quake of a reaction from the Minneapolis fans. Punk cleaned house on the J.A.S. to send them to a retreat before having a staredown with interim champion Moxley.
Mox showed the Champ what he thought of him by flipping Punk off before leaving. With that little interaction, it seems we’re in for an All Out collision course between Punk and Moxley to decide the one, true AEW Champion. A hell of a main event awaits us on September 4th.

8/12/22 AEW Rampage: Quake by the Lake results
- Bryan Danielson opened the show to address the future of his career, stating that he’d never willfully retire from wrestling. Daniel Garcia showed up to mock Bryan for losing to him. Ahead of their 2-out-of-3 Falls match on Dynamite, Bryan said that he’s sick of the “sports entertainment bullshit” and that Garcia was wrong for buying into it. He said that he wanted Garcia in the Blackpool Combat Club for his wrestling talent, offering this to think about: does Garcia want to be the best “technical sports entertainer” or the best “technical wrestler” in the world?
- Sammy Guevara & Tay Melo def.Dante Martin & Skye Blue via pinfall to retain the AAA Mixed Tag Championships (7:30).
- Parker Boudreaux def. Sonny Kiss via pinfall in a very quick squash (1:00). Prior to the match, Ariya Daivari approached Sonny and whispered something in her ear. Remember that for later…
- The Gunn Club def. “Beardhausen” (Danhausen & Erick Redbeard) via pinfall (8:00) with a FameAsser on Danhausen.
- HOOK declared that the FTW Championship was an open challenge title and looked to take on all comers. “Reality star” Zack Clayton answered HOOK’s challenge and a FTW Title match was set for next week’s Rampage.
- Orange Cassidy def. Ariya Daivari via pinfall (12:00) with the Orange Punch. Post-match, the Best Friends and Trustbusters have a brawl, but Daivari’s group got the upper hand when Sonny Kiss attacked Orange with a low blow, seemingly joining them.

Other Odds & Ends
- On Dynamite, Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt, and Satnam Singh bragged about leaving TNT Champion Wardlow in a heap at Battle of the Belts, before being confronted by the man himself. However, Wardlow didn’t come alone, as he had his friends FTR back him up. Sonjay and pals left without a fight.
- Miro addressed being sprayed with Malakai Black’s mist, rejecting Julia Hart’s offer to embrace the darkness. He said that he’d use this gift to tear apart the House of Black instead, and that his warpath would go through the group.
- Toni Storm expressed her desire to fight for the AEW Women’s Championship now that she’s the No. 1 Contender due to Kris Statlander’s injury. Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa appeared reluctant to face her friend in this match.
